I am a music therapist, music teacher, and vocalist here in the NYC area. I hold a Bachelors of Music from UNC Greensboro, and have had 3+ years of public school music teaching experience. For the last 5 years, I have worked as a Music Therapist at a special needs activity center for children and adults on the autism spectrum. We focus on playing instruments, group participation, following directions, individualized musical growth, sound and note recognition, enhancing motor skills, and increasing interpersonal skills. Our members cycle through all types of creative classes throughout the day in addition to music. Such classes include: yoga, dance, art, exercise, etc.
Additionally, I teach private music lessons to young children, and work daily 1 to 1 with a child who is also on the autism spectrum . My current endeavors have inspired me greatly to continue a career where I can use my musical background as a teaching and therapeutic tool to help others. Attached is my resume.
