So happy to be here letting you know who I am! I recently retired after 31 years with the New York City Department of Education educating the children of Canarsie.
Cooking has been part of my life since I was in second grade. I remember boiling a frozen turkey dinner pouch, poured it on two pieces of bread and had the best Hot Open Turkey Sandwich. I remember watching cooking shows on Sunday afternoon, From the chefs on the screen I learned the basics, the how to. From my grandparents, I was able to practice what I learned on tv. I remember measuring out the flour for the latkes that I helped prepare during Hanukah. I loved cooking and through the years filled many happy tummies at my dining room table.
Fast forward 50 years and here I am coming back to my first love; cooking. Always interested in health supportive culinary arts, I enrolled in The Institute of Culinary Education. Now I am excited to bring my two loves to Togetherhood: teaching and cooking.
