Billy Leys is a New Jersey/New York-based educator, director, and playwright who’s passionate about storytelling and arts education. He earned his B.A. in Theatre Studies from Kean University and his M.A. in Theatre from Montclair State University. Billy has worked as a teaching artist with BergenPAC and the Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey, and he’s also a proud judge for Paper Mill Playhouse’s Rising Star Awards. His theatre credits include assistant directing The Shark is Broken at George Street Playhouse and debuting his original play TV Dinners through their Next Dramatist program. As an actor, he’s performed in musicals like Spring Awakening, Parade, West Side Story, and The Pajama Game. Whether he’s in the classroom, rehearsal room, or audience, Billy loves being part of the creative process and helping others find their voice through theatre.
