Chess
Philadelphia
- I organized chess tournaments in high school that drew up to 150 students from around my region.
- I captained my high school chess team to state championship victories all my four years of high school.
- I beat Hans Niemann (today world #20) in online blitz several years ago.
I'm a current PhD student in neuroscience at the University of Pennsylvania who is a national master in chess. In 2017, I won the Oregon state high school chess championship and finished second in the overall state championship. I led or co-led the chess club and team at both my high school and college. I have also joined the chess club here at Penn and play for our team at intercollegiate tournaments. I enjoy teaching chess to young players!
