Woodcraft, Games, Creative Writing

New York City

  • SQUARE is a hands-on strategy and woodworking class where students build their own wooden game boards while developing critical thinking, spatial reasoning, and a deep understanding of fair play.
  • Story Forge is a structured creative writing workshop that guides students from idea to finished story using clear narrative frameworks, strengthening literacy, sequencing, and expressive confidence along the way.
  • QuietGround Woodwork introduces students to real tools and real materials in a carefully scaffolded environment, building craftsmanship, focus, and practical problem-solving through purposeful, screen-free projects.

Alex earned his MA in English Literature from the University of Louisville and has since devoted his life to pursuing art and service in various capacities, including theatrical rigger, choreographer, artist, actor, writer, and teacher. Alex has spent the last twelve years building partnerships with schools nationwide to bring unique and compelling programming to early learners. These days, you can usually find him building projects and playing Zelda with his son, doing woodwork in his basement, and baking the occasional cake.
