I am known as Ma Sensei or Sensei Max, and I have taught martial arts since I was 13 years old. My students range from as young as 5 years old all the way to 70 years old, and I have been a major player in China’s Kendo circle, wielding the unique dual sword fighting style in competitions. Aside from Japanese Sword Fighting (Kendo), I also trained in Archery, Karate, Iaido (Traditional Performative Sword Arts), Jodo (Way of the Staff) and Tankendo (Japanese Bayonet fighting). Our dojo has always focused on building acceptance, agency and maximum potential within our students, and I have actively worked alongside to maintain an inclusive and productive environment, teaching people with various disabilities alongside our students, treating them with respect and love they deserve. Outside the dojo, I have also taught children how to paint and sculpt, and worked in various artistic and diplomatic fields, such as films, documentaries, news stations and social media, whether it is performing on stages for video game events or acting for films and commercials, I have a great career experience when it comes to artistic expression as well. I take great joy in helping my students explore their interests and maximizing their potential, and it gives me great satisfaction when I succeed in disciplining and sharpening young minds into warriors. My personal hobbies include Tea making, long distance biking and wood working.
