I am a DIY kind of person and I don't mean that in a way that says "I like to do things on my own". Rather, when I approach a new challenge, I always like to take it upon myself to understand the topic(s) before making an attempt to achieve my goal - unafraid to ask for help when necessary. For instance, shortly after I graduated from college with a Bachelor's in Sport Management in January 2024, I realized I wasn't enjoying the work as much as I thought I would. So, with a few years of bedroom music production under my belt, I decided to take free online courses on audio engineering topics ranging from miking drums (setting up microphones to record drums) to understanding the flow of audio information in a live concert setting. Since then, I have made too many industry contacts to count and I have been working in live and recorded audio for a little over a year. My goal as a Togetherhood provider is to teach students to have a positive outlook on learning. As a kid, I often struggled to pay attention during class because the material was uninteresting or because I didn't feel like the teacher was engaging enough. Now, I feel excitement when I need to read a book to better understand a subject even if it's not related to my job, hobbies, or other general interests. As a teacher, it is my responsibility to provide the material in a digestible manner and to make sure my students don't fall behind. More importantly, I believe that my role as teacher is to help students get excited to learn by helping them form their own learning methods and strategies.
