- The karate I teach is designed to be simple, which makes it more accessible.
- The karate program is complete and progressive. Meaning each level builds on the other, towards a clear goal.
- Karate is used as a tool to improve life skills, such as: Confidence, problem solving, and perseverance.
My name is Ezri Musa (she/her/hers). Martial arts has been a life passion since I was 6 years old. I've been practicing martial arts for 37 years and have more than 20 years of teaching experience. As a neurodivergent transgender woman, I know what it’s like to feel excluded in martial arts spaces. My approach to karate centers on treating martial arts as body movement taught with a goal to create an environment where every student feels welcome and receives instruction in a way that matches their unique style of learning, while providing a safe space for students to grow and be authentically themselves. I also wish to honor the art form of karate by teaching in a culturally aware manner that avoids appropriation and elevates the history from which it came. I view the teacher-student relationship as one of mutual respect, joy and growth. My desire is for every student to both feel a sense of accomplishment in whatever level of training they wish to attain while developing a deeper cultural appreciation for karate.
