Class Description

This introductory course gives students the opportunity to explore the fundamentals of Japanese jujutsu, a traditional martial art that emphasizes balance, discipline, and control. Students will practice proper warm-ups and learn foundational stances, along with three hand techniques and three kicks. Movements are practiced on both the left and right sides, and students will gradually build combinations to strengthen coordination and flow. As part of their training, they’ll also learn how to count from one to ten in Japanese, deepening their connection to the cultural roots of the practice. This course provides a safe, structured, and engaging way to develop focus, strength, and respect through martial arts. Please note: This class requires access to a safe, open practice space with mats.
