Class Description

Grades K - 1 Has your child ever wanted to learn more about why their computer games work, how machines are built, and what makes crystals form? This highly engaging and FUN class helps establish critical thinking and fosters creativity, collaboration, and more! Throughout the term, hands-on and project-based topics can include: ● Engineering (Architecture, Urban Planning, Simple Machines, Energy of Motion) ● Coding (Scratch Animations & Interactive Games, Learning XY Coordinates, 'If/Then Statements', Loops) ● Science (Crystallization & Minerals, Chemical Reactions, Biology) ● Technology (Simple circuits & conductors) ● Math (Finance, Budgeting, Entrepreneurship) Students will be picked up from SAUW at the end of the school day by their enrichment provider and walked one block to the Church of Saint Matthew & Saint Timothy, 26 W. 84th St., where the class will be held. Parent pickup is at 5:45pm from the Church. $45 per class, 7 children minimum $30 one time materials fee No class dates- January 18th; February 22nd
