Class Description

Tuesdays | section for children ages 8-10: 1:15 - 2:15 | section for children 6- 7: 2:15 - 3:15 PM | September 14th - December 21 | No course on October 12 This course integrates the STEM fields through hands-on and project-based learning. Students will engage in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics activities, Classes will enable children to be creative, collaborate, and solve problems together. Each topic that is explored will include an instructional component as well as a project and/or experimental component. Materials will be provided! Topics will include: - Engineering (Architecture, Urban Planning, Simple Machines, Energy of Motion) - Coding (Scratch Adventure, X/Y Coordinates, 'If/Then Statements' - Science (Crystallization & Minerals) - Technology (Simple circuits & conductors) - Math & Engineering (Jr. Entrepreneurs, Product Making, Business Planning) About the Teacher: Liz Fruciano has over 12 yrs. of educational experience working with children from ages 2 to 17. She started her own educational company, Next Generation Startup, which has provided entrepreneurial STEM programs at schools such as Solomon Schechter School of Manhattan, and organizations such as the JCC. She also created curriculum for Launch Math & Science Centers. $43.50 per class, 11 sessions remaining (No classes on 10/12). 6 Student maximum
