Laura Arike

Teaching Artist

Laura Arike is a Brooklyn based art historian, artist, and educator. She holds a B.A in Art History from Pratt Institute and is pursuing an M.A in Museum Studies at CUNY School of Professional Studies. Laura currently works at the Brooklyn Children’s Museum and previously taught in the Education department at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Her approach to teaching lies in visual thinking strategies, inquiry based pedagogy, and collaborative art-making. She is strongly motivated by youth development work and identity formation.
