- I am a teacher, an actor, a clown, and a mime!
- I live in Brooklyn, but I grew up in Chico, California (3 hours northeast of San Francisco).
- I work in the arts, but my family members are all in medicine, medical science, and education. As a result, I have a wealth of peripheral knowledge about health: nutrition, fitness, wellness, and integrative medicine.
Hello! I am a teaching artist, academic tutor, and actress working in Movement Theatre and academic education, as well as social-emotional applications of theatre pedagogy. I have over fifteen years of cumulative experience as an educator in the arts (theatre, creative movement and dance, improvisation, clown, mime, character, and devising), as well as early childhood education and academic education (ELA, Math, test prep), during which I have worked with adults and children from infancy to age 18, in homes as well as in public schools and arts schools in the Bay Area and New York City. Twenty years of research, training, and performance in classical theatre (Shakespearean and Greek), contemporary theatre, and movement theatre (clown, mime, mask, ensemble) has informed not only the subjects I teach, but is reflected in my way of teaching and social-emotional support of students. I have come to see teaching as a critical part of my theatre practice: one which has great power to bring healing and unity to students. Most recently, I have contracted through Ivy Tutors Network in NYC public schools and for families. I have been especially moved and humbled by my students, who are immediately responsive and connected to the depth of theatre-based play.
