My name is Trevor Walsh, I am twenty-two years young and I am born and raised here in New York City.
One thing I live for is the next generation. I feel that we need to hold each other close at all times and teach the younger generations anything to benefit their lives down the line. My passion for sports (mainly basketball!) has been my way of connecting with the youth. On top of the endless fun that comes with the game, there are endless lessons that are attached. Teamwork, leadership, patience, determination, and so much more. In my teenage years I was a part of a youth organization called The Brotherhood SisterSol where its main focus is the upbringing of today’s youth. One of the programs I participated in which was the Rites of Passage program focused on three pillars: How to be a man, brother, and leader. In the midst of being in the program as a member it was important to take these lessons and carry them out through everyday life. Now as an alumni it’s my duty to show the youth the importance of togetherness and leadership. As an alum I have taught and chaperoned classes such as Capoeira and swimming with our elementary groups and many holistic teachings with our teens. All in all, I want to leave a positive mark with those I work with, carry out my legacy and to be known as a man, brother and a leader.
