- My family produces olive oil in the wine country of California.
- I have a secret side business making vegan caramels.
- I was a D+ student in math, but A+ student in culinary school!
My name is Abigail Kirn and I am a chef, born and raised in Northern California. I was lucky enough to have parents who taught me the power and joy of food. Spending time on our family farm, the connection between high quality, sustainable agriculture and delicious, thoughtfully prepared foods was clear. In New York, away from the farm, I spend my time building relationships with local farmers and hosting dinners series to highlight the incredible and diverse produce offered in the city.
Cooking has been a way to show love and take care of the people in my life - my family and friends, myself, and sometimes hungry strangers. I strive to help build a culinary foundation and help nurture an incredible life skill that students will carry for the rest of their lives. Whether cooking becomes a hobby or a career path, students will know how to whip a batch of chocolate chip cookies in an emergency and how to pick the juiciest basket of apples from the farmer's market.
