Ryan Frank is a woodworker and visual artist based in Brooklyn, NY.
Ryan has over a decade of experience in carpentry, fine woodworking, furniture restoration and refinishing. His passion for wood is apparent in the quality and precision of his work. For Ryan, woodworking is a way to connect with nature through the handcrafted.
As an artist Ryan has had solo exhibitions at the Invisible Dog Art Center, the Mattatuck Museum, the Children’s Museum of the Arts, the Lilac Preservation Project, Art-In-Buildings, Icehouse Project Space, and Tremaine Gallery at Hotchkiss School. In 2015 his mobile installation A Wandering Sukkah toured throughout New York City to much acclaim, stopping at venues including the Queens Museum, the Bronx Museum and the Jewish Museum. He's participated in artist residencies at La Napoule Art Foundation, Jentel Foundation, SIM Iceland in Reykjavik and The Wassaic Project.
Originally from Northern California, Ryan has lived and worked in New York City for the past twenty years. He is an ardent runner and a practitioner of Tai Chi.
