- I have been to 6 countries! I see cooking as a low budget way to travel around the world.
- I love writing about everything, but especially all things food!
- Half my family is Ecuadorian and half my family is Eastern European & Jewish. I'm so thankful to have been raised with both cultures!
I first stepped foot into the culinary industry as a teenager working as pastry chef at Eleven Madison Park. Years later I realized how a fine dining pastry background set a strong foundation to become a very precise and skillful savory cook! After returning home from studying French pastry at Ecole Ducasse, I switched gears, and became a personal chef working with clients all across Manhattan. Despite the fact that I entered the culinary world spending my days making delicious sugary pastries, my work as a personal chef and at food access organizations inspired my passion for nutrition.
One of my favorite parts of my marketing degree was the video production aspect where I produced in-studio cooking demonstrations. This is where I discovered my talent for food entertainment and teaching. My marketing and pastry background allow me to create classes that are fun and engaging, while being outcome focused. I’ve touched on many aspects of the food world within my career, including food marketing, food writing, and even starting my own baking business. These unique experiences have given me a multi-faceted perspective on the culinary arts!
