Passionate visual arts educator specializing in multi-media, sculpture and painting. I received a visual studies degree from The New School in which I focused on museum education, art history and studio art. I taught at a charter school for two years before transitioning to a more creative role at the Brooklyn Children's Museum. While working at the Brooklyn Children's Museum as a lead educator I designed project based curricula in a variety of subjects for after-school programming serving K-5th grade. One of my favorite courses I designed was a curriculum that teaches students about chemistry using household ingredients. Color theory is always a big part of my lessons and I love to combine subject matter to create a multi-dimensional learning experience. I believe that project-based, inquiry-based learning is the best way for youth to learn and grow creatively. Students who are able to make mistakes, try again, and discover things on their own develop a love of learning that will last a lifetime.
