With a Masters of Science in Biology and a passion for art and teaching, I find the interdisciplinary and holistic nature of the future of the education system to be quite invigorating! Being an artist and a scientist allows me the perfect balance between expression and precision. Life Science has taught me important truths in the systems of nature that we simply cannot ignore in our ever volatile climate. Artistically as a poet and designer I've mastered an abstract approach that allows for therapeutic and out of box thinking to take the forefront. I am passionate about childhood education and have professional volunteer and paid experience with teaching in classrooms aging from toddlers to high school (yes I love them all!), 1:1 tutoring of various subjects and English as a second language to both Spanish and Swahili native speakers. I am loving, understanding, and connect with all my students authentically. I currently work in community activism and as an artist. I have just completed my degree this year at 24 years old, and have been devoted to creating a balance between science (energy), art (expression) and the importance/power of INTENTION in our world. I am grateful to have had space these past 6 months to heal, explore my passions, and to disconnect from the rigor of science and academia in higher education. I am unconventional in ways that an urban environment especially needs. I operate much of my life offline and connect with nature and the world in healing and rejuvenating ways, especially since I have recovered from physical ailments/handicap. I am also extremely grateful for my travels to Central and South America, Africa and Europe as well as being first generation to an interesting family from Iran, a country I yearn see but cannot go to safely (yet). These experiences have given me insight, peace, and shown me that everywhere is home, the earth holds and nourishes everybody, and we all belong.
