Say Hi
  • I won the World Open U1600 Section in 2001 and the $10,000 first-place prize!
  • I was captain of my high school chess team at St. Francis Prep, leading them to win the NYC Catholic High School Championship. This was my school's first championship in nearly 20 years!
  • I was the coach of the 2008 NY State K-6 Champion, who was ranked 12th for the event.

Self-taught USCF Candidate Master who has 20+ years of chess coaching and teaching experience. I have been playing in chess competitions since 1999 and teaching chess since 2001, when I won the U1600 Section of the 2001 World Open, along with the $10,000 first-place prize. I was captain of the St. Francis Prep chess team, which I led to win the NYC Catholic High School League Chess Championship in 2002. I continued to work with the team as the head coach/trainer and helped produce 4 straight varsity and junior varsity championships from 2003 to 2006. Since then, I have gained experience working in various private and public schools in Manhattan. I have taught chess individually to students as young as 4 years old. My teaching philosophy centers around not just teaching chess but also teaching one how to think logically.
