Hello, my name is Leon! I have been a chess instructor/couch for over 5 years now. I grow up in the Bronx, New York City. At the start, I struggled to learn and would lose all of my matches. I would try to rush my games and was overconfident. Little did I know that was the reason why I was losing. Chess is about patience, thinking ahead, and finding creative ways to meet your goals, all lessons that can be used in life. I carried these lessons with me and it is because of these values I was able to make it this far opening many doors for me and allowing me to become a Chess instructor at 14. I started not knowing anything about chess in the 4th grade to learning from national masters and teaching what I can. Now I have the opportunity to travel and learn with my students. I look forward to sharing with you what I have learned in my journey!
