Hiya all, my name is Elena (xe/they/them). I am a fiber sculptor, installation-based artist, and teaching artist residing in Philadelphia. I specialize in fiber and textile work, which includes but is not limited to crocheting, knitting, sewing, embroidery, weaving, and more. My sculptures and installations are informed by micro and marine biology.
I love fostering my students' creativity and passion, whether youth or adults; wherever I teach, I aim for my students to have fun and learn to express themselves. Also, I want to show my students that fibers and textiles don't necessarily have to be all about fashion but instead can be an avenue to explore soft sculpture and installation work.
